How touching and sweet these words can be. They can overwhelm the newly-weds with emotions and sincere feelings when they finally get to make a new home together. Now this is the way it is since ages and ages ago. There is that strong unbreakable bond between making a family and getting a lifetime partner.

People get married everywhere around the globe however different their traditions, ideologies and lifestyles would be. Everyone believes in the bond between males and females who usually end up living at the same home making a new family.

Wedding ceremonies have gone through a great number of changes according to the country, traditions adopted and the way people lived. They way people enjoy and carry out wedding rituals differ from one place to another. However, there is one common thing between all the different and various styles concerning marriage. It is the fact that weddings are considered the only ceremonies including all types of joyful rituals, starting from music, dancing to food and more fun.

So aside from such happy celebrations and manifestation of joy and glee, there are a lot of conventional rituals that has been related to weddings all through the ages.  Now it is time to find out about where they are derived from.

Your Wedding Torte

In the past, wedding tortes used to be made and prepared by the family women for the couple. However, nowadays, wedding tortes have greatly developed in the look and design. In the past, the bride’s family used to place the torte beneath the pillow where the future wife would place her head. After this the girl would simply have a dream of her potential husband.

The very first wedding torte was made to be thrown at the couple as a good omen of future children and productiveness. Nowadays, we have that tradition to toss rice or salt around the newly-weds just when the ceremony comes to a close.
Modern wedding tortes usually consist of levels and of course it gets better when the number of levels increases. The guests like to see how elegant-looking the torte would be. The reason behind the fascinating look of the wedding torte lies in the past when they loved it for good omens of future prosperity. For example, they used to believe that the number of levels that the torte would be is the number of their expected kids. This is why the liked it so high in the previous ages.

Using a Bond

Some people think that to try the bond is to tie yourself to your partner, which is the wrong idea. This was simply an act done in the past as a sign of the bride’s virginity. To undo the bond made was the husband’s job right after the ceremony.

Your Best Man Is Your Supporter

Now comes the most surprising tradition of all, which is the one of the best man. In the past, the best man used to kidnap the future bride from her family. This was often achieved by hitting the girl on her head by a heavy object then bringing her to her new place. Another mission of the best man was to protect the bride and groom from any dissatisfied acquaintance    

Nowadays

So now we are not as violent as the previous ages, however, up till this moment wedding’s rituals and conventions still go through deep changes. This is what usually makes the ceremony an occasion to remember.
